Trutuff Fully Tempered and Heat Strengthened glasses are of supreme industrial grade. They are produced by processing glasses in Horizontal Roller Heath Oscillating Tempering Furnace at typically 625° – to form uniformly heated glass which is then rapidly cooled in a process called ‘quenching the glass’ by simultaneously blowing air through evenly distributed high pressure air nozzles on both sides of the glass.
A high air-flow rate is used to produce Trutuff Fully Tempered Glass and a much lower airflow rate leads to the production of Trutuff Heat-strengthened Glass. Both the glasses have increased strength to resist higher levels of impact, mechanical load and thermal stress.
- Size Range: 300 x 300 mm to 2440 x 5000 mm
- Thickness Range: 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm.
- Types of glasses: Clear, Tinted, Reflective Soft Coat, Reflective Hard Coat, Low-E, Planistrong
- Four to five times stronger than annealed glass of the same thickness and configuration
- When broken, tempered glass fractures into small fragments. This reduces the possibility of serious injury when compared to annealed glass
- High mechanical strength from stress-induced toughening process
- High thermal strength when compared with annealed glass.
- Can withstand temperature differential of 250° C.
- Stable at temperatures ranging from -70° to 250° C
- Higher mechanical strength means it can be used with mechanical fittings like Patch, Spider, Hinge, Disc, Point Fixing
- Offers Solar Control and UV elimination properties
- Size Range: 300 x 300 mm to 2440 x 5000 mm
- Thickness Range: 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm
- Types of glasses: Clear, Tinted, Reflective Soft Coat, Reflective Hard Coat, Low-E, Planistrong
- Three times as strong as annealed glass of the same thickness and configuration
- Relatively lower optical distortion when compared to tempered glass.
- Fractures like annealed glass. Tends to remain in the opening when broken.
- Intended for general glazing where additional strength and/or resistance to mechanical and/or thermal stress is desired.
- Should not be replaced where safety glazing is required.
